Aging Gracefully in 21st Century

Aging Gracefully in 21st Century

Where does the real beauty hide – is it a layer of makeup, or maybe a twinkle in her eyes? Or maybe how elegant she is? How does cosmetics change us?
As long as ancient times, women painted their faces and used cosmetics. In ancient Egypt, it is thought that men and women used a variety of beauty products: hair dyes, scented oils, various ointments to cleanse the skin. Egyptian women were indifferent to nurturing their beauty.
And now, XXI century, it is rare for a woman to imagine her life without cosmetics. If we look at the contents of a woman’s handbag, every woman who takes care of herself will most likely have lipstick or at least a lip balm in it ( I would love you to add http://beautylab.ie/product/nimue-spf50-environmental-shield-50ml/ so you can always protect your skin on the go)

Mascara or lipstick doesn’t make us look older. No, definitely not. As we get older, a more intense, heavier makeup look can. What does a young girl do to look older? – Yes, applies more makeup! I’ve done it myself to get into a nightclub on an occasion or two ( I know you did too, it’s part of growing!). One of the main tips for how to look younger is – wear subtle, barely noticeable make-up during the day and look after your skin religiously. By religiously, I mean cleanse your skin am & pm, use a treatment toner, serum, moisturise, and always protect with SPF. Get some me-time, even if its a once a month thing. Book in for a facial or a massage, you won’t regret it. Over the last 20 years, beauty and perfection has been a significant development. From advanced aesthetic procedures to plastic surgeries. Simply put procedures cannot turn back time. Body image is closely aligned to self-image and self-esteem.

And then we have french women… French women are elegant even when their hair is messy. They purposely don’t follow trends, but always look stunning…Always. How do they do it? In France, women believe the notion of beauty should be pleasing to oneself above all, and that the most beautiful women are the ones who look effortlessly gorgeous. And as Coco Chanel once proclaimed: “You can be gorgeous at thirty, charming at forty, and irresistible for the rest of your life.”I don’t know if anyone needs to hear this, but the youth obsession is played out, our digital world is full of photoshops, filters and a lot of unrealistic images.

Stress can also affect your skin by affecting your skin barrier function and cause other skin conditions. So it looks like the aging gracefully formula is quite simple:
Stay elegant. Be kind to your skin, your skin is your largest organ. Wear less make up on daily baisis. Stay physically active. Get more sleep. Do what makes you happy!
Staying young is not just your looks, it’s your lifestyle. When choosing how to age gracefully ask yourself can I make room for a little beauty in my life?
Let this Spring be full of new findings and nice experiences…
